  • There are 2 ways to access St. Barths: by plane and boat. By plane, there is an international airport in Juliana airport (SXM) St. Marten. But there is another access way by San Juan, Puerto Rico or Pointe a Pitre, Guadeloupe. Only certain airline companies are allowed to land in St. Barths because it requires a special license.
  • Boat access to St. Barths is by ferry companies and by water taxis.
  • For European citizens, an identity card as passport is sufficient. For other citizens of other countries, a passport and visa may be required, depending on the legal requirements of the authorities. To be sure, always inquire first, be careful to specify that you are going to a French Overseas Department as an extension may be required, and always show a return ticket.
  • Euro is the currency but the Dollar is accepted everywhere.
  • Population in St. Barths is about 8,400, with Americans spending long times in their private villas.
  • Voltage current in the island is 220 volts or 60Hz. But just make sure to bring a transformer and adaptor. And ask what is the voltage current.
  • St. Barths shares the same holidays with France in Europe but also has other holidays like Mardi Gras and St. Barthelemy’s Day.Running water on the island is still from water desalinazation. But just make sure to bring bottled waters or buy one as some stomaches are different in ingesting water.There are many different religions but mostly are Catholic, Anglican and Pentecostal.
  • Luxury cruises are also one way of getting to St. Barths through their Caribbean tours. But it’s only for a short amount of time that you get to spend for a St. Barths stopover, depending on the schedule.
