The highlights of last week come from the Les Voiles de Saint Barth boat race regatta and the Easter Weekend.
Easter Weekend
Easter Sunday is for kids and what usually happens is that kids (and sometimes adults), play games where there are eggs (called Easter eggs) are hidden in a certain area or house or property. Inside these eggs are clues and maybe a candy here or two. These eggs have certain clues in them that lead to the next egg clue and eventually to a top prize. Children are often the ones participating since these are games for the little ones to have fun. Easter Egg hunting has been a long time tradition and is still continued until today.
Les Voiles de Saint Barth
The Les Voiles de Saint Barth is an annual boat race that was just recently started (only in its 5th year this year 2014), where participants from all around the globe take part in a race around the beautiful luxurious island of St. Barths for a span of about 5 days. This year was as thrilling as ever as boats composed of people representing countries:
- Sweden,
- Holland,
- America,
- Portugal,
- France,
- U.K, and many more others.
It is such a great sight to see where different nationalities are a part of 1 team and work together to race and try to win. The competitive spirit of these participants is what is brought out by such events as this regatta, but that doesn’t mean that these competitors don’t know how to have fun. In fact, every night after the race there’s always a party held to celebrate those who raced each other to get to know one another, their families, and bond with each and everyone, all in the spirit of healthy competition. Les Voiles this year was truly fun, as can be seen by the many videos of racing, partying night after night, up to the awarding ceremonies. Next year will be the 6th year and as early as now plans have already been made and registrations are already available. See you next year guys for another week of boat racing in St. Barths.
