For the second year in a row, Les Voiles de Saint Barth has been canceled. The regatta, originally set for April 14–19, 2025, has long been a highlight of Saint Barth’s sailing season, bringing energy to the island just as the peak travel period winds down.

Adding to the disappointment, Vive Les Voiles 2025—a smaller, more informal alternative—will also not take place. This event was meant to keep the island’s sailing spirit alive, but now both regattas are off the calendar.

The Role of Richard Mille in Les Voiles de Saint Barth

Since 2010, luxury watch brand Richard Mille has played a key role in making Les Voiles de Saint Barth a world-class event. As title sponsor, the brand introduced the Richard Mille Record Trophy, celebrating the fastest Maxi and Multihull teams.

For years, the partnership was a natural fit—Richard Mille is known for high-performance, precision timepieces, just as the regatta showcased elite sailing. The event also gave the brand access to an audience that values both craftsmanship and competition.

What These Cancellations Mean for Saint Barth

Les Voiles de Saint Barth may not draw the massive crowds of high season, but it still brings hundreds of visitors to the island in April. With both Les Voiles and Vive Les Voiles canceled, local hotels, restaurants, and businesses will miss the boost these events typically provide.

Vive Les Voiles was meant to offer a laid-back, community-driven alternative to Les Voiles, giving sailors and visitors a way to enjoy Saint Barth’s waters in a more relaxed setting. Without it, the island’s spring sailing calendar feels much quieter this year.

Sailing in Saint Barth Continues: The 2025 St Barths Bucket

While these events won’t happen, Saint Barth’s sailing scene remains strong. The 2025 St Barths Bucket, an exclusive regatta for some of the world’s most stunning superyachts, will still take place from March 13–16, 2025.

The Bucket is a true spectacle—guests can admire magnificent yachts racing through turquoise waters while enjoying the island’s legendary hospitality. The event brings a mix of world-class sailors, luxury travelers, and yacht owners, keeping Saint Barth at the heart of elite sailing.

What’s Next for Les Voiles de Saint Barth?

Right now, it’s unclear whether Les Voiles de Saint Barth will return in the future—or if Richard Mille will continue its sponsorship. However, many hope the regatta will make a comeback, restoring the excitement and tradition it has brought to the island.

In the meantime, Saint Barth remains a dream destination for sailing and luxury travel. Whether visiting for the St Barths Bucket or simply to enjoy the island’s beaches, fine dining, and yacht culture, there’s no better place to experience the best of the Caribbean.
